FLAT OVAL REED SPLINT - Top Oval, Bottom Flat

Splint is a flat, woody material cut from the inside of the rattan palm, and used for splint basketry and weaving country style chair seats. Traditionally splint was oak, ash, or hickory; today flat reed and flat oval reed are often substituted. Our materials are very strong and uniquely free of hairs and splits.


HOW MUCH SPLINT OR SHAKER TAPE PER CHAIR

The accompanying chart indicates various sizes of splint type seats measured in inches front to back and side to side at the widest place and the total amount of splint or tape to cover. The amounts take into account coverage of both top and bottom of seat.
