Huichol Gourd Art - Jicara
October 17, 2009
Cindy Lee

The Huichol Indians of Northwestern Mexico combine a form of copal, a naturally occurring tree pitch with tiny glass beads to line the inside of gourd bowls which are then used as offerings and gifts during pilgramages.

The technique is surprisingly fast. You will easily finish one small bowl during this one day workshop, as you learn this authentic technique of bead inlay.

Date: Saturday, October 17, 2009 - 10am to 4pm

Fee: $75 (materials included)
